Le Chapitre Québec Ontario (CQO) d’IIBEC a tenu sa toute première assemblée générale annuelle virtuellement le 24 février 2022, un total de 13 membres étaient présents.

L’événement a commencé par un message d’ouverture de la présidente actuelle de la section, Stephanie Robinson, qui comprenait une présentation du conseil d’administration 2021 et un résumé des événements tenus au cours de la première année d’opération du chapitre. Stephanie a souligné une campagne d’adhésion en cours qui comprend la sensibilisation des membres actuels sous le Chapitre Sud Ontario d’IIBEC, mais qui sont situés dans la géographie du CQO pour les encourager à se joindre à nous.

Guillaume Castonguay, trésorier actuel de la section, a passé en revue les états financiers de 2021 et le budget 2022 proposé.

Il a été annoncé que le Chapitre Québec Ontario d’IIBEC a remporté un prix Argent, dans le cadre du programme de Prix des chapitres exceptionnels 2021 d’IIBEC, qui sera présenté au congrès national de cette année.

Jennifer Hogan, directrice de la région VII, a présenté les activités de l’administration centrale d’IIBEC et leurs liens avec notre région, y compris les tendances des membres d’IIBEC et un résumé des activités de la Fondation RCI Canada au cours de la dernière année.

Brian Pallasch, pdg et vice-président exécutif d’IIBEC, ainsi que Edward (Ted) Sheridan, président du comité exécutif d’IIBEC, ont pris la parole devant les membres et ont discuté des événements à venir et des initiatives en cours au siège social d’IIBEC, y compris la traduction française des documents et des programmes éducatifs d’IIBEC, les possibilités de plaidoyer canadiennes et le prochain congrès national.

Michel Paulin, vice-président actuel de la section, a présenté le nouveau conseil d’administration de 2022 qui a été nommé par une élection virtuelle avant l’AGA. Le conseil d’administration 2022 est :

The IIBEC Quebec Ontario Chapter (QOC) held its first ever Annual General Meeting virtually on February 24, 2022 with a total of 13 members attending.

The event began with an opening message from current Chapter President, Stephanie Robinson, which included an introduction of the 2021 Board of Directors and a summary of events held in the Chapter’s first operating year. Stephanie highlighted an ongoing membership drive that includes reaching out to current IIBEC Southern Ontario Chapter members who are located within the QOC geography to encourage them to join us.

Guillaume Castonguay, current Chapter Treasurer, reviewed the 2021 Financial Statements and the proposed 2022 Budget.

It was announced that the Quebec Ontario Chapter has been granted a Silver Level IIBEC Chapter Award which will be presented at this year’s National Convention.

Jennifer Hogan, Region VII Director, presented on the activities of IIBEC headquarters and how they relate to the region, including IIBEC membership trends and a summary of activities of the RCI Foundation Canada over the past year.

Brian Pallasch, IIBEC CEO and EVP, and Edward (Ted) Sheridan, IIBEC Executive Committee President, addressed the Chapter and discussed upcoming events and ongoing initiatives by IIBEC headquarters, including French translation of IIBEC documents and educational programs, Canadian advocacy opportunities, and the upcoming National Convention.

Le chapitre a présenté le cours d’Imperméabilisation sur 4 demi-journées, le 19, 20, 26 & 27 janvier 2022. Les instructeurs étaient :

Ce cours s’est concentré sur les systèmes de dalles à terrasses, l’imperméabilisation appliquée en surface et l’imperméabilisation en dessous du niveau du sol. Le cours a commencé par un examen des différences entre les membranes de toitures, hydrofuges et d’imperméabilisation. Le contenu du cours est idéal pour ceux qui aspirent à devenir des consultants en imperméabilisation enregistrés (RWC).

Le cours a été un autre grand succès auprès d’un public de consultants / ingénieurs, de représentants de fabricants et d’entrepreneurs.

The chapter presented the Waterproofing course over 4 half-days on January 19^th, 20^th, 26^th & 27^th 2022. The instructors were:

This course focused on split-slab plaza deck systems, surface-applied waterproofing, and below-grade waterproofing. The course started with a review of differences among roofing, dampproofing, and waterproofing. The course content is great for those who are aspiring to become Registered Waterproofing Consultants (RWC).

The course was another great success with an audience of consultant/engineers, manufacturer representatives, and contractors.
