The chapter presented the Roof Technology and Science II course over 4 half-days on February 15, 16, 22 & 23, 2023. The instructors were:

Roof Technology and Science II is the second course of a two-part series covering, in detail, aspects of the technology and science of roofing. Highlights of the program includes: fundamentals of single-ply, basic concepts and terminology of metal roofing, building codes and basic understanding of wind interaction upon roofing.

The course was a success with an audience of consultant/engineers, and other industry professionals.

Cela a été présenté sur des sessions de 4 demi-journées et est la première composante d’une série en deux-parties couvrant en détail, les aspects de la technologie et de la science de la toiture. Le cours a couvert l’histoire et l’évolution de la toiture jusqu’aux applications courantes actuelles. Le cours comprenait des informations terminologiques et techniques concernant les terrasses et les structures de toit, l’isolation du toit, les membranes de bitume modifié, les membranes multicouche et les solins métalliques,.Une compréhension de la théorie du transfert de chaleur, de l’humidité, de la conception thermique et du calcul des facteurs U a également été présentée.

Le cours a été un auprès d’un public de consultants / ingénieurs et gestionnaires d’installations.

The chapter presented the Roof Technology and Science I course over 4 half-days on November 9th, 10th, 16th & 17th 2022. The instructors were:

This was presented over 4-half day sessions and is the first component of a two-part series covering, in detail, aspects of the technology and science of roofing. The course covered the history and evolution of roofing up to present-day common applications. The course featured terminology and technical information regarding roof decks and structures, roof insulation, bitumen membranes, built-up and modified-bitumen membranes, and flashing systems. An understanding of heat transfer theory, moisture, thermal design, and the calculation of U-factors was also be presented.

The course was a success with an audience of consultant/engineers and facility managers.
