Ce cours s’est concentré sur les systèmes de dalles à terrasses, l’imperméabilisation appliquée en surface et l’imperméabilisation en dessous du niveau du sol. Le cours a commencé par un examen des différences entre les membranes de toitures, hydrofuges et d’imperméabilisation. Le contenu du cours est idéal pour ceux qui aspirent à devenir des consultants en imperméabilisation enregistrés (RWC).

Le cours a été un autre grand succès auprès d’un public de consultants / ingénieurs, de représentants de fabricants et d’entrepreneurs.

The chapter presented the Waterproofing course over 4 half-days on January 19^th, 20^th, 26^th & 27^th 2022. The instructors were:

This course focused on split-slab plaza deck systems, surface-applied waterproofing, and below-grade waterproofing. The course started with a review of differences among roofing, dampproofing, and waterproofing. The course content is great for those who are aspiring to become Registered Waterproofing Consultants (RWC).

The course was another great success with an audience of consultant/engineers, manufacturer representatives, and contractors.

• Burt Carver, RRC, RRO – Owner, Apex Building Sciences Inc.
Les participants ont reçu une revue approfondie de l’observation de la qualité pour s’assurer que l’installation de la toiture est conforme aux documents de construction. Le programme a couvert les aspects divers et difficiles de la toiture tels que rencontrés sur le chantier.
Le cours a été un succès auprès d’une audience de consultants / ingénieurs, de représentants de fabricants et d’entrepreneurs.

The chapter presented the Rooftop Quality Assurance course over 2 half-days on November 24th & 25th. The instructors were:
• Stephen Baxter, RRC, RRO – Principal, Baxter Roof Consulting Ltd.
• Burt Carver, RRC, RRO – Owner, Apex Building Sciences Inc.
Attendees were provided with an in-depth review on performing quality observation to assure that roof installation is consistent with construction documents. The program covered the diverse and challenging aspects of roofing as encountered in the field.
The course was a success with an audience of consultant/engineers, manufacturer representatives, and contractors.

Le chapitre a présenté le cours des systèmes de murs de béton extérieur sur une période de 4 jours, le 16 et 17 juin ainsi que le 23 et 24 juin.  Les instructeurs étaient:

• Peter Saunders, Directeur, Science du Bâtiment et Service Technique, Henry Canada
• Kami Farahmandpour, Principal, Building Technology Consutlants, Inc.  Kami est également le créateur du cours.

Les participants ont reçu un survol détaillé des propriétés matérielles du béton, des codes et des standards applicables, des exigences de construction et de design, et de l’évaluation, de la réparation et de l’entretien des murs de béton extérieurs.  Le cours a offert 16 Heures d’Éducation Continue.

Le prochain cours offert par le chapitre sera celui de l’Assurance de la qualité sur les toitures.  Le cours aura lieu en ligne le 24 et 25 novembre.

The chapter presented the Exterior Concrete Wall Systems course over 4 days on June 16, 17, 23 and 24th. The instructors were:

• Peter Saunders, Director, Building Science & Technical Service, Henry Canada
• Kami Farahmandpour, Principal, Building Technology Consultants, Inc. Kami is also the creator of the course.

Attendees were provided with an in-depth review of properties of concrete materials, applicable codes and standards, design and construction requirements, and evaluating, repairing, and maintaining exterior concrete walls.  The course provided 16 Continued Education Hours.

The next course offered by the chapter will be the Rooftop Quality Assurance Course on November 24th and 25th online.
